Unforgettable moments reaching the finishing line together.

40 years ago I reached this line of the most famous marathon of the world in the Big Apple as the first runner from South Tyrol – it was the 21st October 1979. Moments of this first run are in my mind still today. In 2019, 40 years after this run I will start again but this time in a different way: I will run together with my 2 sons Thomas (33 years) and Benjamin (30 years old). For the first time together all 42,195 km through all 5 boroughs of NewYork.

A long time dream to run the New York Marathon with my sons will become reality.

I take the opportunity to remind you of all the runners in South Tyrol who unfortunately are unable to join the marathon again due to Alzheimer some of them are no longer able to run, while others are no longer able to remember the wonderful moments of such a marathon. These people are the main motivation for me and my sons for training and the final 40.000 steps in New York.

The Charity Projekt Run For Alzheimer Südtirol I dedicate the Alzheimer Society of South Tyrol.
